THE REGENT.
FINALLY TONIGHT. “Between Two Women” will be finally staged tonight. COMING SATURDAY. “THE AWFUL TRUTH.” Indiscretions of a bright young husband. coupled with an unsuspected flirtation by the wife, lead to separation and divorce proceedings for Jerry and Lucy Warriner. Their experiences during the period of separation form the basis of a brilliant comedy, “The Awful Truth,” which will be tire Easter attraction at the Regent Theatre. Cary Grant, whose Hollywood successes have been helped by early English training, plays the part of Jerry' Wariner with real brilliance; and Irene Dunne, as Lucy, is a worthy match for him. The final scene, depicting Jerry in a borrowed nightgown, torn between his determination to continue the divorce and a queer feeling ■ that time may yet permit a reconciliation, is a triumph of the real comedian’s art. “The Awful Truth” is brilliant comedy, played with distinction and restraint. It never veers from its hilarious course. Irene Dunne performs a mirth-pro-voking dance specialty with Ralph Bellamy. Others who play their roles with distinction arc Cecil Cunningham and Alexander D’Arcy.
