PROVISIONS OF NEW AWARD. DOUBLE TIME FOR SATURDAY WORK. WELLINGTON, This Day. The New Zealand (except Westland) painters and decorators award has been filed. The wages provisions are restrospective to December 3 last. Total exemption from the award has been granted in 109 cases. The award provides for a five day week of eight hour a day, and work on Saturdays is to be paid for at double time. The minimum rate of wages is fixed at 2s 9d per hour.
