SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW
CARNIVAL FESTIVITIES. NEW ZEALAND-BRED HORSES WELL PLACED. SYDNEY, April 13. The Royal Show is now in full swing. It is estimated that there are 500,000 visitors to Sydney, including hundreds from New Zealand. The city, which is in carnival mood, is still beflagged and illuminated at night for the continuation of the anniversary festivities. The weather generally is pleasant, with occasional showers. A feature of this year’s show is the entry of Clydesdales, New Zealand bred animals winning the two-year-old classes with magnificent stallions owned by Messrs J. Smith and F. Lehmann.
The New Zealand horseman G. Goodley was thrown during the buckjumping contest in the arena. He was treated for lacerations and slight concussion.
