EXPEDITIOUS HANDLING OF DISPUTE

WELLINGTON, April 12.

What was described by the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr M. J. Reardon) as a record settlement, was made in the Wellington and Taranaki Cool Stores Dispute today. The entire proceedings, including the signing of documents, occupied well under half an hour. The only point left to the Court was the determination of the term, of the Award. The hours were fixed at 44 and the rates of pay ranged from £4 10s to £5 10s, with hourly rates from 2s 4d to 2s Gd.
