GREYTOWN
FIRE BRIGADE MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade:—Superintendent Gates was re-elected superintendent for the 27th year in succession; deputy-supt., J. Wood; foreman, J. Workman; station officer, W. Wood; secretary, H. G. Carter; treasurer, W. Wood; Ist motorman, W. Dunn; 2nd motorman, B. Workman. THE MAYORALTY. A large deputation waited on Mr H. T. Rees with a requisition largely signed by the ratepayers and burgesses of Greytown asking him to offer himself for the Mayoralty election. Eulogistic references were made to Mr Rees’s services by several speakers. Mr. Rees in reply thanked the deputation for the honour accorded him by waiting on him and assured the deputation that he would have pleasure in according to their request. PERSONAL. Mrs W. McMinn and daughter, Joan, have left on a month’s holiday to be spent in Whangarei.
