Richard Whitney was sentenced to imprisonment for from five to ten years in Sing Sing. A New York cablegram on March 11 reported that the State authorities had arrested the bankrupt broker Richard Whitney (of Richard Whitney and Co., which was suspended on the New York Stock Exchange), who was charged with stealing 103,000 dollars worth of securities from the New York Yacht Club. Bail was fixed at 25,000 dollars.
