WELLINGTON MARCH CHEQUE There was a definite improvement in the market at the March wool sale at Wellington and the gross proceeds and average price realised were higher than those for the February sale. The official returns for the March sale, compiled by the Wellington Wool Brokers' Association, are as follows: — Offered, bales 24,291 Sold, bales 22,731 Passed in, bales 1,560 Sold to local mills, bales 199 Net weight sold, lb 8,100,008 Gross proceeds £337,713/13/4 Average price per bale .. £l4/17/2 Average per lb 10.006 d.
