STOLEN GOODS
RECOVERED BY CHRISTCHURCH DETECTIVES VALUED AT ABOUT £lOOO By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. April 9. Littered with stolen property valued at £lOOO. two rooms at the Central Police Station bore al! the appearance of a glorified jumble sale this morning. The conglomeration was the result obtained when detectives searched two houses in the city yesterday and found articles which were apparently mostly from drapery stores.
• Shirt-sleeved detectives were busy cataloguing the articles. The goods included blankets, towels, cutlery, underwear (men’s and women’s), and a lawnmower. Waterproof overalls and a leather waistcoat also caught the eye. Modern lampshades gave Chief Detective Dunlop's room an unusual appearance, while a wicker basket crammed full relieved the monotony of the view. Some of the cutlery was of very good quality and expensive.
