COLLISION ON BRIDGE

PASSENGER SERIOUSLY INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. DANNIVIRKE, April 10. On a bridge on the main road near the Dannevirke golf links, a collision occurred at 10 o'clock this morning between a car driven by Mr John Gildea, Junr., Maharahara, and a car driven by Mr Ronald S. Fairbrother, Tepapakuku. In Mr Gildea’s car were Mr John Gildea, Sent - ., chairman of the Maharahara dairy factory, and a member of the executive of the National Dairy Association, Mrs Gildea, Sent-., and Mrs Joblin and her two children. In Mr Fairbrother's car, Mr B. Coombes was a passenger. Mr. Gildea, Senr., had both legs broken, and his condition late this afternoon was critical. All the others concerned received cuts, abrasions and shock, but with the exception of Mrs Gildea they were able to return to their homes after treatment.
