HARRIER ACTIVITIES
KIATERE CLUB TRAINING RUN. There was a good attendance at tne preliminary training run held by the Kiatere Harrier Club on Saturday. The runners covered a distance of approximately five miles at a steady pace. Good form was shown by the new members and by some of the younger runners.
MASTERTON CLUB. PRELIMINARY RUN. The Masterton Harrier Club held their second unofficial preliminary run from the Park Oval on Saturday, 24 runners in all taking part, the juniors being under A. Spicer. The course followed was an easy one and little serious running was indulged in. On account of Easter there will be no run next Saturday. The next run will be on April 23. Members and new members are advised that training runs have started and all are advised to start training now as the first inter-club contest of the season takes place on the 4th June against Hutt Valley harriers for the Sanders Cup at present held by the Hutt Club. The club is fortunate this year in having the services of W. A. C. Pullar, New Zealand cross-country champion in 1935, who has taken over the training and coaching of the club members. The club’s official opening will take place on April 30.
