MAURICEVILLE COUNTY

BUSINESS AT CQUNCIL MEETING

At Saturday’s meeting of the Mauriceville County Council, part of the proceedings of which were reported in Saturday’s issue, the clerk, Mr A. W. G. Rollings, reported that a building permit was issued, with the approval of the building inspector, for the erection of a dwelling at Hastwell. The action of the clerk was confirmed. The clerk was instructed to write to the building inspector in regard to the erection of a small building at Mount Bruce, for which no permit had been applied for.

The clerk was also instructed to write to a resident regarding a dog that had not been registered. An application was received for the purchase of some of the old timber of a bridge near the Hastwell Cemetery. The overseer was requested to retain some of the timber suitable for county use, and the chairman was authorised to sell the remainder at his discretion.
