SHEEP DOG TRIALS

SUCCESSFUL MARTINBOROUGH MEETING. CONCLUDING DAY’S RESULTS. Outstanding success attended the Martinborough Collie Club’s sheep dog trials, which were concluded yesterday. Large entries were again received and keen competition waS witnessed in all the events. The standard of performance was particularly good. The results of yesterday’s events were as follow: —

Short head: M. Wilton, Jack Wallace, 57J points, 1; L. D. Cameron, Storm, 564 points, 2; Gordon Laing, Silver Ring, 56 points, 3; C. McDonald, Fay, 55 points, 4.

Huntaway: S. Herbert, Toss, 43 points, 1; G. Shannon, Hinkler, 43 points, 2; S. Herbert, Boy, 41 points, 3; L. D. Cameron, Hardy, 40 points, 4.

Maiden Huntaway (local): N. A. Hume, Dan, 384 points, 1; A. M. Jury, Mac, 38 points, 2; J. Moffatt, Tyke, 371 points, 3.
