W.C.T.U.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the W.C.T.U. was held in the Methodist Hall yesterday when Mrs Speight presided over a good attendance of members. After the customary devotions led by Mrs Jansen, the speaker for the afternoon, Miss McGregor, was welcomed. Taking Preparation, Praise and Prayer as her subject, Miss McGregor stressed the necessity for a strong faith against all evils, especially that of the liquor traffic. The thanks of the meeting were expressed to the speaker by Mesdames Jansen and Speight. A dainty afternoon tea was provided by the hostesses, Mesdames T. Miller and Taylor, who were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. After general business had been transacted the pronouncing of the Benediction terminated an instructive meeting.
