Mrs Helen Wills Moody, the tennis star, in addressing a gathering of tennis, players recently, said: “When a woman steps upon the tennis court for a match her opponent hardly exists for her at all—and adversary is simply the source of returned balls — and for this reason little of the enmity popularly supposed to exist between women tournament payers while on the court actually exists.”
