VALUE OF CAMPS

RECOGNISING RESPONSIBILITIES “The boys’ camp teaches a boy more effectively than anything else how to adjust his life to the lives of others, and so bring about his own moulding into a good citizen, recognising definite relationships and responsibilities, stated the annual report of the Masterton Y.M.C.A. “The camp this year broke all previous records,” the report added, "by catering for 50 boys at Castlepoint. For the first time our own hut was put into commission, and during a bad spell it proved an inestimable boon. The camp provided the usual programme which kept the interest of the boys throughout, and was free from sickness or accident of any serious nature."
