A GIFTED CITIZEN
TRIBUTES TO LATE MR PEACOCK APPRECIATION OF Y.M.C.A. Sympathetic reference to the death of the late Mr H. M. Peacock, for a number of years president of the association, was made by the chairman, Mr W. A. Clarke, at last night's annual meeting of the Masterton Y.M.C.A. ‘ Mr Clarke said the late Mr Peacock joined the association about 12 years ago and at the time of his death he occupied the position of pi-esident. He was endowed with some of God's greatest gifts—sympathy, skill, patience and understanding. He realised that he possessed those gifts and was at all times anxious to use them for the benefit of others. ' His services were sought by all community organisations in the town doing worth-while work. The late Mi- Peacock had steered the Y.M.C.A. ship through troubled waters and at no time did he lose heart, but always relied on faith. It was decided to place on record appreciation of the wonderful work performed by the late Mr Peacock in the interests of the Y.M.C.A. and to express to Mrs Peacock and members of the family the association’s deep sense of regret at his untimely death.
