EKETAHUNA
TABLE TENNIS CLUB. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Eketahuna Table Tennis Club was held on Monday night. Mr M. Hansen presided over a fair attendance of members.
The annual report showed the club to be in a good financial position. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr M. Hansen (re-elected); secretary and treasurer, Miss P. O’Regan. The men’s subscriptions were increased to 4s and ladies 3s, and 6d a night. Mr C. McNab and Miss P. O’Regan were appointed delegates to the Bush Association meeting. PERSONAL. Mr and Mrs M. R. Herbert have returned home after having spent a holiday in the South.
Constable McCowan, who has been laid up with an attack of influenza, is making progress towards recovery. He contemplates a health-recruiting trip to the Islands, as soon as he is able to travel. Constable Watt, of Palmerston N., is on relieving duty at Eketahuna. Mr A. Toohill, of Eketahuna, has joined the railway service at Palmerston North. TEAROOMS BURGLARY. The tearooms conducted by the Misses Morris were entered by a burglar on Monday night and several articles stolen.
