CARTERTON

GOLF LINKS IN GOOD ORDER. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Green Committee of the Carterton Golf Club is making every effort to have the Taratahi links • in good order for play during Easter. The greens have been top-dressed and the fairways are now being cut with a gang mower. One or two enthusiasts have already been up to the links, and they report that with the favourable condition of the links there is every expectation of an enjoyable season’s play. The official opening day has not yet been decided upon. LATE MR FARLEY. The funeral of the late Mr Jas. Farley, of Greytown, took place yesterday at the Greytown Cemetery in the presence of a representative attendance of mourners. Deceased was an old member of the Pacific Lodge, U.A.0.D., Wellington, and was accorded a Druids’ funeral. Members of the Totara Lodge of Druids (Carterton) and Fernleaf (Greytown) attended, and the lodge funeral service was read at the graveside by the District President, Bro. Hector Bassett, of the Totara Lodge. Many beautiful floral tributes were- sent by sympathisers. The funeral service was read by the Rev. H. White, of the Methodist Church (Carterton), assisted by the Rev. K. P. Lilly, of the Presbyterian Church (Greytown).
