OXFORD STREET SEALING

PRELIMINARY WORK WELL IN HAND.

A much needed improvement, the work of tar-sealing Oxford Street, is 'now well in hand. The street has been graded and consolidated for its full length and the work of metalling started today. The Borough Engineer, Mr. C. R. Mabson, hopes to have the 'stretch from Opaki Road to Mawley Park camping ground sealed before Easter. Although provision was only made on the Estimates for a part of the street to be sealed this year, it has now been found possible to do the whole length.
