PERSONAL.
The Governor-General, Lord Galway, who left Wellington at the weekend attended by Captain R. StuartFrench, A.D.C., arrived at Taupo on Sunday night. Lady Galway, attended by Lientenant S. R. le H. LombardHobson, A.D.C., R.N., arrived at Taupo yesterday. Major and Mrs R. G. G. Byron left Wellington yesterday morning. The vice-regal party is spending a short fishing holiday at The Spa, Taupo, after which their Excellencies will proceed north. They will be irt residence at Government House, Auckland, until early in June. Mr T. C. H. Miller, Masterton, is paying a short visit to Christchurch.
Mr P. L. Bringolf, of Sydney, is on a visit to friends in Carterton.
Miss E. Davis, of Queensland, is the guest of Mrs. E. McKenzie, Faraday Street, Carterton. Mr P. J. Borthwick, Masterton and Mr Jason Borthwick, London, sail tonight by the Awatea for Australia. The Rev M. L. Underhill is expected to arrive from England shortly after Easter and will be instituted vicar of Ohakune on April 26.
The Rev. A. F. R. Parr, at present vicar of Bombay in the Auckland diocese, will join the staff of Christ Church, Wanganui, after Easter.
Dr W. H. Simpson, of Wellington, will leave on the "Empress of Britain” on April 10 for a tour embracing United States. Britain and the Continent. He will be away for six months.
The Rev C. F. Webster, recently private chaplain to the Bishop of Gibraltar, has been appointed vicar of Mangaweka, and will arrive by the Rotorua next month.
Mr J. Robertson, member for Masterton, left yesterday on a visit to Sydney, and will be away tor a fortnight. During Mr Robertson's absence any urgent business arising in the Masterton constituency will be dealt with by Mr Mr B. Roberts, member for Wairarapa.
The Rev Father Barr-Brown, who has been in charge of Takapau parish for the past year, was entertained on the even of his departure for another Parish and presented with a wallet and a substantial cheque. He is being succeeded by the Rev Father O'Shea. Kilbirnie.
Mr and Mrs George Coster. Eketahuna, have left for their new home in Waipukurau. Before leaving they were farcwelled by the Tararua Electric Power Board, of which Mr Coster was a member of the staff, by the citizens of Eketahuna, and by the M.U.1.0.0.F. Lodge. Mr Coster has been appointed assistant engineer to the Central Hawke's Bay Power Board.
