Miss Iris Southey, of Masterton, is on a holiday visit to Napier. Miss Ula Ramsey, Wellington, was a recent visitor to Masterton.

Mrs Reid, Sen., is staying with Mr and Mrs J. V. Reid, “Tawera,” Masterton.

■ Miss G. Brown, of Marton, who has been visiting Masterton, has left on her return home.

Mrs Norman Boyne, Carterton, will leave this afternoon by the Awatea on a holiday visit to Sydney. She will visit her mother and relatives there.

Mr and Mrs Russell Bayliss, Ngahere Masterton, have returned home after having spent a fortnight’s holiday at Paraparaumu Beach.

Miss Molly Cunningham, of Masterton, left yesterday on a holiday to Dunedin.

Mrs S. M. Baird, Cole Street, is staying with Mrs Tredray, Eketahuna.

Miss Barbara Baird motored to Wairoa on Sunday with Mrs Glendinning and Mr Rupert Glendinning. Mr and Mrs Wellwood and family are spending a holiday at Paraparaumu Beach.

Mrs W. Paterson, Hastings, is visitin Mr and Mrs Don, Hadlow. Mrs. R. I. Wadhams, of Masterton, will sail on Thursday on holiday to England to visit her mother at Northampton, whom she has not seen since coming to New Zealand ten years ago.

Miss J. Morris, who has been on the staff of W. J. Palamontain, printer, of Masterton, for the period since the “Wairarapa Standard” was burnt out last year, and who will leave the employment of that firm on Friday next in view of her approaching marriage, was the recipient of a presentation from the staff. Mr. W. Palamontain in referring to the good qualities of Miss Morris, and the happy relations that had existed between her and the staff .asked her to accept, as a small token of esteem, a handsome tea set. Miss Morris suitably replied.
