CYCLE AND LORRY COLLIDE

ELDERLY MAN’S DEATH VERDICT AT INQUEST By Telegraph—Press Association. TAURANGA, April 1. Yesterday afternoon Harry Benfell, aged 59, a married man with an adult family of four, who was employed at the Tauranga Citrus Association’s factory, rode out from the factory on a bicycle and collided with a motorlorry driven by Frederick William Hopkin. He was removed to hospital, where he died some hours later. The evidence at an inquest disclosed that Benfell fell under the vehicle, a wheel or the differential passing over his head and inflicting severe injuries, no blame being attached to the lorry-driver.
