RATANA TRAIN DISASTER

CONDITION OF VICTIMS. WANGANUI, April 1. Two of the patients injured in the Ratana railway disaster on Saturday have been discharged from the Wanganui Public Hospital. They are Miss Laura McKenzie, 111 Marine Parade, Seatoun, Wellington, who received bruises to the face and shock, and Mr. Peter Clark, aged 41, labourer, who was suffering from shock. The -fireman of the wrecked engine, Mr. Kenneth Millar, aged 33, married, 43 Tarrikhi Street, Ngaio, is still in a critical condition, and there was no change to-day. Mr. Miller . received extensive burns all over the body. The driver of the train, Mr. Edward Percival, aged 52, married, 66 Saar Street, Wellington, who received severe burns on the arms and upper part of the body, is in a fair condition and showed slightimprovement to-day. The other injured passengers, nine of whom are still in hospital, are improving.
