PLUNKET SOCIETY
SHOP DAY. SUCCESSFUL RESULT. The Masterton Plunket Society held a very successful shop day yesterday, the amount taken, with donations, being £54/2/5. The street sale of badges on Wednesday realised £4B/6/9, thus making a very satisfactory total of £lO2/9/2 for the two efforts. The stall-holders yesterday were as follow:— Produce: Mesdames K. F. Beetham, D. Donald and W. A. Michael. . Cake: Mesdames H. H. Daniell, J. Broad, E. G. Norman, T. Jordan and Miss J. Cooper. Flowers and buttonholes: Mesdames E. G. Eton, R. C. Drummond, J. James, Sortain-Smith, and Miss Alice Eton. Work: Mesdames J. V. Gordon, A. H. Falloon. and A. F. Stewart. Jumble: Mesdames R. Miller and A. Donald (both of Kopuaranga), and H. P. Harrison.
The committee desire to thank Miss Alice Eton (assisted by Misses E. Brass, N. Woodhouse and Y. Ruby) for making and selling the buttonholes, and to express their appreciation of the co-operation of the president (Mrs R. Miller) and the secretary (Mrs A. Donald), of the Mauriceville subbranch. Thanks are due also to Mr A. B. Jones (manager for Laidlaw Mackay) for having made the shop available to the branch, and for his generous help, to Mr S. V. Flaws for his assistance, to the “Daily Times” for printing badges; Borough Council (gas department), Masterton Printing Co., Mr N. R. Jones (milk), W.F.C.A. (chairs, etc.), the press, and all others who assisted to make the day such a success.
