BOMBERS IN TROUBLE

ONE AMERICAN MACHINE FALLS INTO SEA FIVE MEMBERS OF CREW MISSING. SECOND PLANE DISAPPEARS. HONOLULU, March 31. A naval bomber engaged in manoeuvres, fell into the sea during heavy weather before daylight, 100 yards from Kaena Point. Two members of the crew swam ashore. Five are missing. EXTENDED SEARCH. SURFACE VESSELS & AIRCRAFT ENGAGED. (Received This Day 9.5 a.m.) HONOLULU, March 31. Sixty-five surface vessels, 210 planes from aircraft carriers, and 30 planes from the Pearl Harbour Naval Base are searching for a bombing plane, which has been missing since yesterday. Six men were aboard the plane, which had been ordered to search for a theoretical enemy not further than 200 miles from the coast.

Oahu Island divers are still searching for the bodies of the crew of .the other bomber which earlier fell into the sea.
