GUARANTEED PRICE
REQUEST BY MATAMATA FARMERS. The Matamata Farmers’ Union decided at its annual meeting, to ask the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. Walter Nash, to publish from the income tax returns the 10 highest amounts of tax paid by firms in tariff-protected industries, and the profits made on the capital invested by those firms.. The decision to send the message was in view of the fact that the Minister in fixing the guaranteed price for dairy produce had stated that the interest allowed on capital invested by producers was 4 per cent.
