WAIRARAPA SMALL FARM ASSOCIATION.

The following are the resolutions agreed to at the meeting held at Masterton on the 16th instant:—

“ That half an acre in each -township on which the, present Court-houses are built may be sold to the General Government for the sum of fifty;pounds for each half-acre; and in the event of the General Government declining to accede to the proposition, the Committee are of opinion that the price shall be settled by arbi - tration.”

“ That Mr Kenall he appointed arbitrator on hehalf of the Association, with full power to dispose of the land for the best price he may be able to obtain.” “That the disposal of the land on which the present Town-halls are built in each township should be dealt with in such manner as the residents of the Association in each township may.determine without prejudice to each other.”

“ That propositions Nos. 3, 4, and 6 he dealt with as determined by resolution No. 4.” ‘ “ That proposition No. 5, to let for short leases only certain town acres; and proposition No. 7, to sell other acres he referred to managing trustees to be hereafter appointed to each township as the meeting may hereafter determine.”

“ That the 48 acres in' Greytown, held by the Association, should be let in such manner and for such periods of time as shall be hereafter agreed upon by the managing trustee of both townships; that all present holdings be respected as let, and that all monies in hand, and that may hereafter accrue shall be equally divided between the townships of Greytown and Masterton.”

“ That in consequence of the expressed wish of Mr Carter to be relieved as far as may be of the future management of the lands of the Association, your committee would recommend that three assisting trustees be appointed for each township—whose duty it shall be to manage all matters pertaining to the Small Farm Association, in conjunction with the present trustee, Mr Carter; and that such trustees should have full power to deal. with all town acres undisposed of, and all reserved town acres in any way they may consider most conducive to the prosperity of each town for which they separately act.” “ That it is desirable as soon as possible to place the funds of the Association in the Bank of New Zealand in the joint names of three trustees—one trustee for each township, acting in conjunction with Mr Carter.” ’ “ That to prevent any mistake' that may arise in conveying lands for the several pur-poses-agreed upon by the Association; it is desirable that all conveyances before being executed should be submitted to the joint trustees.”

“That the committee of the Small Farm Association recommend Mr C. R. Carter to transfer to John William Bennington town acre No. 54 in Masterton. When he has given sufficient- evidence that he is legally entitled to the same.”

“ The Association are of opinion that all Town Acres for which conveyances are not issued, should be let upon terms -hereinafter to be agreed upon by the Trustees of the Association and held by them in each Township.” “ThatMr Hirschberg,.Mr Moles, and Mr Jackson be the acting trustees forGreytown, and Mr Renall, Mr Masters, and Mr Hare be the - acting trustees - for Masterton. All trustees to act in conjunction with Mr Carter.”

“ That Mr Carter be requested to furnish the account published ■ in' the Wellington “ Independent,” as against the late ..Chairman, Mr W. Allen, and should such account not be paid after being duly demanded the trustees are hereby authorised to take legal proceedings for its recovery.”
