ROAD BOARD.

(To the Editor of the WaieaeapA Mebcdet.) ' November 28, 1867. Sib, —Mr W. Anderson complains of me in strong terms for attacking private men. I have no desire to fall into the same snare as himself, as almost every time that I have observed his name in print, I find him in a few weeks afterwards apologising for what he then wrote. I would not have noticed his letter, only it is so gratifying to seephilantrophists of his kind that will defend another without being protected by a golden shield. I would give him this advice not to rush into print without first having made sure -what'-hens writing about; and inteadbf guessing so as to have in his name in print, to be more careful about his facts. Trusting he may accept it. I bid him adieu, Road Boabd.
