ROTO-O-RANGI.
(Own Correspondent). The Roto- -Rang! ;-:~mool broke up on Thursday, 2tst inst, for its Christmas holidays. The Board of Education having determined to erect a teacher's residence at Roto-o-Rangi, the children considered it a fitting time to present the teacher, Mr R. McKinnon, with something that would be both useful and ornamental in his new home. Geit credit is due to Miss M. Thompson in selecting the article, for presentation, viz., a silver teapot, a set of cups and saucers, a s.tgar basin, and a cream jug. The chairman of the committee (Mr Cox) addressed the children and Mr McKinnon, and called on Miss N. McKirstcr and Master W. Robinson to make the presentation; and also called for three cheers for Mr McKinnon, which were heartily given. Mr McKinnon very feelingly replied, and returned thanks to the children for their gift; he expressed himself as highly pleased at thejdndly feeling which prompted them to make the gift.
