The following advertisement appears in to-night’s Evening Post, as an apology with reference to a statement reflecting upon the integrity of Sir Joseph Ward, and appearing in the report of Mr Monckton’s speech at Otaki, published in the issue oi the Otaki Mail of the 25 th October last: —" i desire to express my sincere regret for having allowed the same to appear in my paper. The statement, which has absolutely no foundation in fact, was published as abovementioned though pure inadvertence, and without any malice on my part. ” —Frank Penn, proprieter, Otaki Mail.
