DISTRICT NEWS.
RANGiAOHIA. (Own Correspondent.) A rather painful accident happened here yesterday morning. It seems that Cecil Reid, one of the younger sons of Mr Isaiah Reid, was about to get on horseback when the animal kicked out and caught the unfortunate little chap on the leg. At first it was thought the leg was broken, bi t owing to the swoollen state of the limb there seems to be some doubt in the matter. It is to be hoped therefore, that a broken leg has been averted. Still the accident has caused the poor little chap intense pain, and the best wishes of all are entertained for a speedy recovery. Great preparations are being made for the concert and dance (as per advertisement in “Waipa Post”) to take place in the Town Hall here this (Friday) evening. Numerous kind friends from Te Awamucu and Kihikihi have consented to assist, so everything promises well for a huge success, and sjubuld the weather prove fine a bumper house is assured. The very many friends (and they are very numerous throughout the district) of Mr W. G. Park, of Panehakua Station, will be pleased to see from results of Hamilton Show, that he has been successful in securing several prizes, including one or more champion prizes. Mr W. G. Park is not given to “blow very hard” about his successes, so that everybody feels delighted that his quiet, but strong endeavours to better the breed of cattle throughout the district has been so successful.
