At St. John’s Church, Te Awamutu, on Wednesday last, a quiet but .pretty wedding was solemnised by the Rev. F. W.,Clarke, 8.A., when Miss Julie Ahier, second daughter of the late Mr Aubin Ahier, of Te Tahi, and Mr Bernard Budden, son of Mr Ben. Budden, of Honikiwi, and late of PahiJlna, were united in matrimony. The, church was tastefully decorated, a wedding bell of choice flowers, made by Miss Foster, being a special feature. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Captain Berry, looked winsome in a gown of white silk with an over-dress of silver lace. A veil and wreath of orange blossoms completed a vision of youth and lovliness. She carried an exquisite shower bouquet of white roses and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaids —Miss May Ahier and Miss C. Buclden —looked dainty in creme voile dresses with lace insertion and silver braid, and hats of white tulle with floral wreaths and chows of tulle, and carried pretty bouquets. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a locket and chain, and to the bridesmaids wrist watches. Mr Cooke, of Otorohanga, was groomsman, and Mr Harold Budden acted as best man. After the ceremony the party were entertained at a recherche breakfast at “Heworth,” the residence of the bride’s uncle, who placed his house at the disposal of the bride’s mother. The customary toasts were given and responded to, after which the happy couple left by express, the bride travelling in a tailor-made costume of brown cloth, with toque to match trimmed with shaded wings.
