POLO BALL-TE AWAMUTU.

Under the auspices of the Te Awamutu Polo Club, a ball was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. Throughout the day the weather remained unsettled, which no doubt prevented many from being present, yet in spite of the attendance not being up to expectations, a most enjoyable evening was spent. The decorating of the main hall was very creditable to those responsible. Streamers of flags across the hall with the walls covered with greenery presented a very good appearance. Silvered polo sticks and horse shoes were hung at regular intervals... A trellis work of tape at the front of the stage was in keeping with the other decorations. A feature of the supper room decorations was the three Cups won by the Te Awamutu team during the past season..

Music was supplied by the Te Awamutu dance orchestra under the baton of Mr E. Moeller and was, by general consent;, worthy of special mention. An excellent supper was provided. Messrs J. O.Taylor, F. Taylor, G. Teasdale, E. McCabe, E. Potts, D. Bockett, E. Moeller, J. Teasdale, W. Kay, and A. O. Kay were the M's.C. for the evening.

A large number of visitors were present, many of whom represented neighbouring polo clubs.
