CORRESPONDENCE.

(Our correspondents' opinions are their own; the responsibility of editorial items makes sufficient ballast for the editor's shoulders. It is necessary thai all letters for publication should bear the name of the writer—not necessarily fOl publication, but as evidence of good faith.)

(TO THE EDITOR.) SIR, —It is truly said, "Life without sentiment is like eating without an appetite," and having, rightly or wrongly, drifted towards the opinion that we, as a community, are somewhat lacking in sentiment, it was most pleasing to me to read " Dulcie's" able letter on cemetery matters in your last issue. It acted as a welcome ' pick-me-up to my gloomy forebodings as to the outcome of our deadened senses. Its sweet sentiment and sound commonsense has surely stirred us, and removed any doubt of the writer's claim to be of the fair sex, a point which was debated when letters for the general weal over that signature appeared in previous issues. Who but a woman, and one, too, who has placed " only a flower " on some sacred spot, could have written that letter. I, for one, have no longer any doubt. I sincerely trust "Dulcie" will go on making use of that valuable medium (your columns) for raising us to better things. Personally, I have to thank her, and I am sure "Domem"also will, for so ably supporting the matter we, through your columns, have interested ourselves in.—l am, etc., SILICUS.
