The meeting of householders, recently called for the election of a school committee, was not attended in sufficient numbers to form the necessary quorum. Whether this indicates ungratified satisfaction with the old committee, or is merely a sign of indifference to educational matters, it is impossible to say. If the former reason holds good there is cause for congratulation, but if the latter then it is a matter for regret that so vital a matter as education should be regarded with such little interest.
