ONGA ONGA.
(Occasional Correspondent )
A meeting was held on Wednesday evening of the members of the cricket club, who are anxious to get up a social and dance. Some of the committee wanted to have the social at the commencement of next seasoo, others to have it now. After some discussion it was put to the vote when the result was in favor of “ no time like the present.” Therefore, it was decided that it come off on Friday, 9th June. No doubt a very pleasant evening will be spent. Onga Onga is proverbial for the success of its enterments. This one will, lam sure, fully keep up the reputation already established. Mr Bridge’s flour mill is in full awing and is turning out first class flour from the looally grown wheat. The saw mill is also doing a brisk trade, judging by tho waggon loads of timber that go through the township daily. Altogether things are pretty brisk and flourishing in the neighbourhood at the present time.
