Children's Concert at Hamilton.

A children's entertainment organised by Mrs Bosworth, was given in the Town Hall, Hamilton, last night in aid of St. Peter's Church Fund. The building was well filled and a very interesting little programme was presented, in which some 40 or 50 kiddies, in varied coloured dresses, took part. Their performances were all executed most creditably and Mrs Bosworth its to be highly complimented upon the state of proficiency reached by the children, who ranged in all sizes from the tiniest tot upwards. It was evident that they enjoyed themselves even more than the audience and fairly revelled in their >vork. The dancing in every case was prettily done, in excellent time and the chorus would not have been amiss in the famous "Tin Can Band." The items included a coon dance by the girls, song, "Meet Me at theG.P.O.," Miss Aitken; "Swing Song," and chorus, girls; sailor's hornpipe, Miss Ina Bosworth and Master F. Thompson; song, "Waiting at the Church," Master Bert Wilson; song, "Gretchen vonVetchen," Master Geo. Tucker; Irish jig, little Misses Aitken and Iris Thompson; song, "Please Give Me a Penny," Miss Hazel Hope; march and polka by the children. A comedy entitled "The Paying Guest," in which Misses Rennie Fry, Ina Bosworth and Kathleen Mayes and Masters Davis, (2), Wilson, Sid. Beaven and W. Cowley took part, provided considerable merriment for the young folk. Presto and Vardo, two youthful exponents of the Cinquevallian art, gave a most mystifying exhibition of juggling, legerdemain, and tumbling. The item entitled "The Fancy Dress Ball," was somewhat unique, in that it embraced snatches from various pantomimes and nursery rhymes, in which the whole of the youngsters took part. The principal musical number was "Angeline," which was nicely sung by Master N. Halliwell. Miss Gordon kindly assisted with the accompaniments.
