THE STATE FARM.

To the Editor. Sir,—l have just read your excellent report of the “gathering” at Ruakura yesterday; also, the paragraph re “speechifying,” and beg to suggest that the invitations to future “fixtures” be more general, as there are many new-comers and some novices in the district who would, no doubt, be very glad to visit our local experimental farm, with a view to learning how to make their own farms a little more profitable. I presume that, by permission, they may visit the farm at any time; but it is always more interesting, and perhaps more profitable on the occasion of a special display.—l am, etc,, NOVICE.
