Hockey.

FRANKTON CLUB. A meeting of those interested in forming a hockey club for Frankton and that portion of Hamilton West lying to the north of the railway was held at the office of Messrs Lucien and Allen last evening. Mr Swarbrick, president of the association was in the chair. There was a good attendance and sufficient members were enrolled to constitute a strong team. It was decided to form a club to be called the Kiakaha Club, the colours to be royal blue and white. Mr W. L. Luxford was elected president, and several gentlemen were elected as vice-presidents, subject to their acceptance of the office. The appointment of a captain and vicecaptain was held over till later in the season, Mr Wood undertaking the duties in the meantime. A committee consisting of Messrs Wood, Luxford, and A. Swarbrick jun, with Mr Lucien as secretary was elected to draw up rules and make all necessary arrangements. Mesrss Lucien and H. H. Edgecumbe were appointed delegates to the Association. HAMILTON CLUB. A meeting of the hockey players within the town boundaries was held at the offices of Mr Northcroft last night. Mr Northcroft was voted to the chair. It was decided to form a club to be called the Hamilton Hockey Club. The following officers were elected:—President, Dr. Going; vicepresidents, Messrs R. J. Pauli, J. Montgomery, and M. Darke; captain, Mr E. H. Northcroft; vice-captain, Mr S. Empson; secretary and treasurer, Mr M. Davy; committee, captain, vice-captain, and secretary, ex officio; delegates to the Waikato Association, Messrs Northcroft and Empson. The club decided on red and black as its colours. This club includes some very promising players and should give a good account of itself. Mr Lee an enthusiastic member, has given a hockey stick for the player showing most improvement during the season. LADIES’ CLUBS, TE AROHA v. MORRINSVILLE." The first match of the season has been arranged to take place at Te Aroha, on Wednesday afternoon next, when the above clubs meet. The Morrinsville team will comprise Misses Knight, Allen, Reid, Humphries, Clifford, 2‘ Stewart, Currie, Irwin, Blair and Manson.

The Te Aroha team will be selected from the following:—Mrs Annan, Misses Ryan,, Jennings, Hare 2, Dearie 2, A. Stanley, H. Stanley, Rowe 2, Brownlee, Willis, Heathcote, O. Patterson, Edwards, Atkins and Bygrave.
