The Collapse of Houses.

London, April 7. The collapse came without the slightest warning, and the 35 inmates of the houses were all buried beneath the debris. Up to the present eight bodies have been recovered and twenty-one persons have been rescued alive. Hundreds of police and firemen are now making tremendous exertions to extricate the six who are still missing. The accident was due to a disturbance of the foundations caused during the re-building of an adjoining warehouse. It is ascertained that there were only 28 inmates of Castle-street; eight were killed, three' seriously hurt and detained in the hospital, and seventeen slightly injured.
