An Extravagant Duke.
Berlin, April 7. Duke Heinrich Borwin, of Mecklen-burg-Schwerin, has been compelled to resign his commission in the German Army, owing to his financial troubles. He. has contracted enormous debts, chiefly to money-lenders, and being unable to meet his creditors has perforce sent in his resignation.
Duke Heinrich is a cousin of the reigning Grand Duke of Mecklenburg Schwerin, one of the smaller German States, and is also a cousin to the Prince of the Netherlands, who married Wilhelmina, the reigning Queen, in 1901.
