Fire at Whangarei.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Kamo, Last Night. An incipient fire broke out last night at Fordsham's grocery and general store, Whangarei, about nine o'clock. Great praise is due to the local brigade for their promptitude in arriving a few minutes after the alarm was given by Mr Harry Dempster. Owing to the exertions of the brigade, the fire was confined to the middle of the store, and the flames were soon got under. The damage is estimated at £l5O, and the insurances are as follows: Buildings, South British, £350; Victoria, £350. Stock, groceries, £750 Imperial; kauri gum, £750, Imperial.
