Labour on the Rand.
London, April 6. The employers on the Rand have offered, as an experiment, to take 400 ■unemployed whites for unskilled labour above or below the surface of the mines. Some of the men will be paid 4s a day, and others 3s until they are efficient enough to undertake piecework.
The majority of the men who had been offered the work declined it.
