The Farmers’ Auctionereing Company report as follows; — MATIERE SALE. We held our first sale in the new yards at Matiere last Wednesday, and have to report a most succsesful sale. Notwithstanding the heavy rain that fell during the morning, there was a large attendance, and bidding was brisk throughout. We yarded 800 head of cattle and 956 sheep, and practically all were sold. Fat and forward 3J and 4 years steers made from £6 4s; fresh 3 and 3i years, £4 l/8s to £5 7s; 2J year steers, £3 10s to £3 19s; 18 months and 2 year steers, £2 12s to £3 2s; yearlings steers, 32s 6d to £2 2s; calves, 19s to 295; empty two year heifers, £2 15s to £3 ss; 18 months heifers in calf £2 ss; 2 and 2i year heifers in calf, £3 7s 6d; fat cows, £5; 2, 4, and 6 tooth ewes, 16s; fresh, full mouth ewes, 10s to 11s 6d; aged ewes, 8s to 8s 7d; two tooth wethers, 12s 6d to 14s 3d.

OHAUPO SALE. At Ohaupo, last Tuesday, we yarded 600 head of cattle. There was a good attendance, but bidding was dull, notwithstanding which the majority of cattle changed hands. Fresh 3J year steers made from £5 13s to £5 17s 6d; 3 year steers, £4 ss; very choice 2J year steers, £4; others, £3 15s; 18 months steers, £2 10s to £2 17s 6d; fat cows, £5 to £5 6s; fresh conditioned cows and heifers, £3 17s 6d to £4 4s; store cows. £2; good calves, 235. WAIHOU SALE. At Waihou on Friday last, we yarded 1200 head of cattle. There was a large attendance, prices ruling about the same as Waikato quotations. We quote: 133 beef penned were required, fat steers sold from £6 5s to £7 2s 6d; weighty cows, £5 2s to £5 17s; lighter weights, £3 16s to £4 10s; three year steers, £4 11s to £4 13s; two and 2i year steers, £3 7s 6d to £3 18s; 18 months steers, £2 12s to £2 18s; yearling steers, 365; fresh and forward conditioned empty cows, £3 5s to £4 4s; good calves, 19s to 275; others, 13s to 17s 6d; 2 year heifers in calf, £3 6s; fat lambs, 12s; fat wethers, 21s 6d; fat sheep, mixed, 14s 9d to 19s pigs, weaners,; 2s 6d to ss; slips, 10s.
