RIOT AT A FUNERAL. Rome, April 4. Serious rioting lias taken place in Rome in connection with a workingman’s funeral. The poilce ordered the cortege to follow a certain route, and the processionists refused. They tried to convert the funeral into a political demonstration, and pelted the police with bricks. The police fired on the crowd and killed two and wounded 12. The city is extraordinarily excited. Rome, April 5. Owing to the day’s disturbance a general strike has been declared fn Rome. As a precautionary measure the lab( ur leadersjand principal anarchists have been arrested. During the rioting 21 police were injured by the bricks and stones thrown by the rioters.
