Another Strike.
By Telegraph.---Press Association Westport Saturday.
Thirteen carpenters employed at the Westport Stockton Coal Company’s construction works at Ngakawau demanded an increase of wages from 11s to 12s per day. The request was not granted, and the men have struck. Three have since returned, but the others remain out. The Stockton is a-new company, and the mine has not yet reached the coal output stage. There is no labour union involved.
