CAMBRIDGE BOWLING CLUB.

The annual meeting of the members of the above Club was held on Friday evenv ing. Mr Thos,. Wells presided, in the absence of the President, Mr F. J. Hrooks, who was indisposed. Mr M. McDermott wbb re-elected a member of the Club.

Annual Report.— The Secretary, Mr Isherwood, read the annual report, which was of a satisfactory nature. The season commenced with a credit of 19s, and terminated with debt of £4 Is 3d; the membership for the season being 35. At the commencement of the season there were liabilities outstanding amounting to £2l 5s 'ld, but now all known liabilities have been discharged, and a large amount of work has been done, bo the small debit is a great improvement on last season. A scheme of comprehensive improvements has been inaugurated, which will largely increase the accommodation when it is completed, The Domain Board consented to the green being extended, and when the alterations are completed it will be square, and playable in either direction. The pavilion has been moved to a more suitable site, and it will shortly be enlarged to as to accommodate both the Bowling and Tennis Club's members. The Club is now affiliated with the Auckland Bowling Association, and two rinks of Cambridge players competed in the Easter tournament, when they made a very creditable stand. The Treasurer submitted the balance-sheet, which showed that the chief receipts were members' subscriptions, £36 15s, and donations, £ls 15s. The main item of expenditure was labour, which amounted to £3O. The Chairman complimented the committee on the great amount of work they had accomplished, stating it had all been done in the right direction and with a view to making the green square eventually. Election of Officebs.—The following officers were then elected :—President, Mr F. J. Brooks (re-elected); VicePresidents, Messrs T. Wells and J. T Lea; committee, Messrs W. Wright, M) McDermott, and H. J'. Davys ; green superintendent, Mr F. O'Toole; treasurer, Mr R. T. Tudehope ; auditor, Mr J. H. Edwards. The election of a Secretary was left to the Committee.— The Chairman complimented the Club on again securing the services of their President and green superintendent. The latter was described as one of the best the Club had ever hvl,' and he (the Chairman) did not know what the Club would havo done without him. —Mr Wright suggested that a caretaker should be appointed. In view of this suggestion being carried out it was decided to raise the members' subscriptions to 25s per annum instead of 21s. Tbophihs.—Mr Wright offerel a donation of £2 2s, and Messrs Wells and Lea each promised £1 Is. Mr O'Toole gives a leather bowls case, and Messrs E. Porter and Co., J. Burns and Co., and H. Nixon have also promised trophies.— Mr Wright stipulated that his prize should go for a pairs match open to those who have never won a match. t Substitutes. future to allow substitutes to play, as laid down by the Glasgow rules. Handicapping and Matchup. The general committee was appointed a match committee, and it was a recommendation to their to allow for handicap pairs and fours as well as championships. New Members—The following were elected members of the club :—Messrs J. M. Browing, H. Jacobi, M. Roberts, H. Ferguson, ]unr., J. Richards, G. W. Venable3, E. Walker, F. Armer. The Pavilion.—The question of enlarging this was left to the President to attend to. Trophies won by Messrs o'Toole and Roberts last season were presented to them. The usual votes of thanks to the outgoing committee and the chairman terminated brio proceedings.
