KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meetiDg of the above Board was held yesterday afternoon. .Present : Messrs Gordon (chairman), Primrose, Paterson, Seddon and Farrer. Tramway Road—Keplies were read from owners of property bordering on this road as to whether they consented to the closing of part of the road and as to whether they would buy the land at a valuation. The answers were mostly against the proposal.—Mr Primrose moved and Mr cieddon seconded, that the Board uo not proceed with the matter.— This was carried. Te Aroha-sireet Drain- Mr C. H. Ward asked the Board to clean out this drain.—Mr Clifton, of the Agricultural Department, asked to see the agreemeuc in which the Waikaio County Council agreed to maintain the outlet.—The Chairman explained that Mr Clifton had promised to maintain the drain adjoining the dam when the Board had moved and graded the road.—lt was decided to ask Mr Clifton to make temporary repairs to the drain, as the Board could not alter the road duriug the winter.
Approach to Property.—lt was decided to reply to Mr Smale that the Board adhered to its former resolution to supply pipes, Mr Smale to do the work. Hire of Grader.—lt was agreed at Mr Clifton's request to reduce the charge made for the hire of the road machine to £2 ss, as it had only beeu actually used for three days.
Road Exchange. Correspondence was reail from Mr Swarbrick re the opening of one road and closing another on the property of the L*ud Association at Kirikiriroa.—lt was resolved to sanction the exchange of roads.
Reserves.—On the representation of Mr Paterson it was resolved to accept Mr Matthew Walsh's offer of £3 per annum for the use of a portion of the river reserve at Ngaruawahia as a site for a sawmill.—lt was also resolved to collect the £5 promised by Mr Spragg for the use of the creamery site at Taupiri. Eureka Creamery Road —The Chairman's action in restricting the traffic on this road and temporarily repairing it was endorsed. Foreman's Report. Mr Franklin suggested that nothing but patching should be dune on the roads un il the weather improves.—Certain works recommended by him were sanctioned.
Finance.—The following b dance-sheet was adopted : Receipts, £754 2s 7d ; expenditure, £298 8s lOd ; balance, £4»5 13s 9d ; subsidy, £3l ss; thirds, £27 4s lid ; rates and penalties, £1 3s 2d ; total assert, £515 6s lOd ; lets accounts to pay, £BO 9s 8d ; balance assets, £434 17a 2d. Alcoonts —The following accounts were passed for payment:—New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, £4 8j; R. O. Clark, £ls 18* lOd ; T. Slade, £lO 10s ; VV. Dey, 7s Id : WaN kato Connty (refund), 2s 9d ; collector's commission, £2 12s lOd ; J. Franklin, £lO ; R. Vowless, £8 4s ; F. W. Littlewood £6 ss; W. Paterson, £1 4s ; J. Winter, 10s : H.
