VETERINARY CLASS.
MeLtons, the Government VeterioanoD, gave his first lecture iu tht Ohaupo Public Hall on Wednesday evening. Tim night waß extremely wet and dark, and only a few attended. Mr Greenslade and Mr Gane sent apologies, as they had to go to Auckland. The subject of the lecture was the bones of the horse, which was illus (rated by diagrams and a collectiun of bones. Ihe 1 oiarer described the diff-rent par's, giving the names of each bone, and impressed upon his hearers the advisability of tiki lit: notes, as he would ask them some questions ou tils subject at his next lecture. Although the lecture was on dry bonus, Mr Lyons succeeded in interesting the class, who listened atteutively throughout, and at its conclusion said that next week the subject would be 'Anatomy, and the functions of the different organs of the body,' hd ' trusted to see a better attenance, and hoped that every member of the class would bring his notebook, as it would assist his memory.—(Own Correspondent).
