CARNEGIE’S GIFT.
DECLINED BY ROOSEVLT.
Washington, December 15. President Roosevelt has declined Mr Carnegie’s proposed gift towards the university extension system, objecting to the obligation to hold tea million dollars interest in the steel trust in London for a term of years.
